Overview of this lesson

What is this lesson about? – The guiding questions:

  • How can I prepare for the exam in the best possible way?

What will you be able to do at the end of this lesson? – The intended learning outcomes:

  • Go into the exam with the best possible feeling.

What will you know at the end of this lesson? – The building blocks of knowledge:

  • Further practice exercises
  • Further sources for even more practice exercises
  • Criteria for an effective formula sheet

1 Access to the exam server

If your exam does not take place on the university premises but remotely, you will usually need a VPN client to connect to the university network. You should test well in advance whether everything works.

  • Install and test the VPN client
  • Test access to the eAssessment server (ask for the server address if necessary)

2 Date and registration

Make sure that you are registered for the exam date.

3.1 Create a formula sheet

I recommend and permit a formula sheet handwritten by yourself, comprising 2 pages on one sheet. The formula sheet is handed in with the exam and retained. The formula sheet should contain formulas and sketches.

3.2 Get a calculator

I recommend and permit a non-programmable calculator from the Casio FX82 series.

3.3 Bring a pen

I recommend that you bring a pen so that you can take notes on the sheets provided.

4 Further practice exercises

In the folder ‘Exercises EE1/Further exercises for EE1’ you will find:

  • 54 knowledge exercises EE1-xx.Ky (K for knowledge)
  • 11 further calculation exercises EE1-xx.Ry (R for German Rechnen, calculating)

5 Even more practice exercises

The scripts and workbooks by Jim Fiore, e.g. ‘DC Electrical Circuits’, contain numerous practice exercises with solutions.

6 Learning and working with focus

What helps me a great deal to work and learn with focus: binaural beats from Brain.fm.
I have described in more detail in my blog what this is and how it works:

And: relaxing also works very well with Brain.fm …
